Turning Insights Into Action

Since 2007, Mason 4C has advanced the science and practice of climate change communication by combining rigorous social science research with real-world application. We partner with trusted voices — from journalists and weathercasters to physicians, educators, and community leaders — to help people better understand climate change and build support for equitable climate solutions.

As a “think-and-do tank,” our work doesn’t end with research. We translate evidence into practical tools, partnerships, and programs that improve how climate change is communicated around the world.

From Local Voices to Global Change

Climate communication at every scale.

Mason 4C turns climate communication research into impact at every scale. Close to home, we uncover what Americans think and believe, equip local journalists and other trusted voices to connect climate change to their communities, and bring people together across political and professional divides.

That impact extends far beyond the communities where it begins. Mason 4C research and expertise inform climate and health communication around the world, support international partners, and contribute evidence that helps shape global conversations and multilateral action on climate change.

From understanding one community to informing decisions on the world stage, our work helps make climate communication more effective wherever change happens.
