Naessiamba Eab-Aggrey

Ph.D. Student, Mason4C

Naessiamba Eab-Aggrey is a Ph.D. student specializing in health communication. She is also passionate about tackling the pressing challenges that Climate change poses, especially in resource-poor settings. Her work focuses on utilizing communication to enhance health outcomes and promote well-being in underserved populations. She is particularly committed to addressing challenges faced by those impacted by limited health literacy. Additionally, she explores the adoption of emerging health technologies like e-pharmacy and how they affect communities and healthcare providers.

Naessiamba brings a multidisciplinary background to her work, holding a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a master’s degree in communication. At George Mason University, Naessiamba teaches foundational courses in communication and contributes to ongoing research as a research assistant.

Recent Accomplishments

1. Conference presentation:
Paper on ‘Opioid Message Fatigue in the United States: Prevalence and Associations with Stigma and Policy Support accepted into the Top Paper session of the Health communication division of the NCA 111 Convention in Denver, 2025.

2. Leadership Role:
Served as the Director of Communication for the Graduate and Professional Students Association(GAPSA) for the 2024/2025 academic year

Served as the Vice-President and pioneer of the GMU Ghanaian Community, creating and managing two social media platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn), organizing events and festivals to foster community and provide support for students especially international students.

4. Workshop:
Facilitated a 90-minute workshop with a colleague on “”Leveraging AI Tools in Academia: A Responsible Use “” on March 26th, 2025, at the George Mason University Campus, moderated by Dr. Sojung Kim

5. Internship
Did a 5 weeks internship with the Ghana Health Service, Shama municipality, serving as the deputy chair for the first half year review meeting and managing a social media platform for the directorate, attending meetings and interviewing nurses and midwives on pregnancy school initiative.

6. Conference Volunteer:
Served as a reviewer for the 95th Annual Florida Communication Association, where I reviewed 5 research papers submitted to the conference.

Serving as a content and program committee member for the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana Annual General Meeting from March to September, 2025

7. Talk:
Served as a panel member for the 2025 Graduate welcome program organized by the Graduate student life at Fairfax as part of the success session on August 12, 2025

8. Summer Course :
Participated in the McGill Summer Institute in Global Health, Reimaging Global Health from June 9th to June 13th
